National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is an independent, third-party organization that has certified more than 200,000 individuals by examination throughout the U.S. since 1989. NCCT was established as an independent certifying agency in order to avoid any allegiance to a specific organization or association. In this way, NCCT is able to work with many organizations, but can remain independent of any outside allegiances, bias, or agenda. A major component of the NCCT mission is to validate the competence of candidates by examination-- not only for the employers who hire them, but also for the public good. NCCT does NOT provide credentials on the basis of experience only. Every candidate must meet NCCT requirements and must pass a criterion-referenced examination to earn a credential from us. NCCT examinations are job-related, criterion-referenced tests designed to assess a candidate’s performance against predetermined standards. These standards are created by a role delineation process (a job analysis survey) that insures that NCCT standards meet the expectations of all stakeholders. Thus, NCCT solicits input from practitioners, employers, instructors, schools/colleges, programs, organizations, accrediting bodies, and other regulatory agencies before determining the breadth and depth of content to be tested.

National Healthcareer Association (NHA) established in 1989 has become the largest organization with over 200,000 allied healthcare professional certified. The NHA is currently working with over 1300 educational institutions throughout the country in curriculum development, competency testing, and preparation for national certification exams. Our Patient Care Technician program will prepare our graduates for Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET).

Prometric - The leading global Provider of comprehensive testing and assessment services. In 1987, the federal government mandated training and competency testing of all individuals performing any nurse aide duties in nursing facilities receiving Medicare and Medicaid funding. Working nurse aides must be listed in good standing on the New York State (NYS) Nursing Home Aide Registry (NAR). The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has contracted with Prometric Inc. to develop and administer the NYS Nursing Home Nurse Aide Competency Exam (CNA exam) and manage the NAR. Our graduates from Nurse Aide Assistant or Nurse Aide Advanced programs can take the NYS CNA exam here at New Age Training.
